Intercultural Center One-Stop Consultation Corner

The Hamamatsu Intercultural Center also runs a one-stop consultation corner.

The center first started offering consultations in 1991FY. Following it’s opening, the number of consultations in 1994FY reached 2066 cases, and those numbers continued to grow with the prevalence towards long-term residency. Furthermore, in the wake of the 2008 global economic recession (bankruptcy of the Lehman Brothers), consultations related to employment and labor increased to a total of 7460 cases, while 2009FY saw the center’s highest amount of consultations ever, at a whopping 8642 cases. Recent trends show there to be an increasing number of difficult, time-consuming consultations as well as consultations from long-term residents.
