NewsActivity ReportsMarch 01, 2023 (Wed)

On November 11, 2022, the U-ToC Interculturalism Class: Learn Outside the Classroom – Let’s go to the Hamamatsu Planetarium! – was held. In this session’s field trip, we visited a Hamamatsu public facility with students who attend the U-ToC Japanese language classes, Japanese volunteers and students from junior-high schools in the city. The aims of the trip were: deepen exchanges between participants and to have those learning Japanese at U-ToC try their best to use the Japanese they learned to chat and deepening their bonds by sharing common experiences, and to deepen their interest in both the city and people of Hamamatsu.

On the day we visited the Hamamatsu Science Museum Mirai-ra with 38 total participants, hailing from 10 different countries including: China, Vietnam, Brazil, Peru, Mexico, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Italy. At the science museum, the group rented out the planetarium for a viewing, enjoyed science shows and watching presentations as well as breaking off into smaller groups and exchanging amongst themselves to make further links.
