Intercultural Understanding Seminar for Teachers – Intensive Summer Course (4 sessions)

In Hamamatsu, children from diverse cultural backgrounds attend school. Only teachers who have experienced this can understand the difficulties of communicating with them. Both children and teachers want to communicate and understand each other, but may feel somewhat frustrated with the barriers.

In this course, participants will learn about the differences between Brazilian and Japanese school cultures, experience workshops on intercultural education, learn about the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) and consider what they can do in diverse school settings.

  • Visiting a foreign school (Mundo de Alegria School)
  • Cultural differences between Brazilian and Japanese schools
  • Thinking about interculturalism from the view point of the Hyotanjima issue
  • Thinking about intercultural understanding from viewpoint of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals)

For teachers at nursery schools, kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools, high schools, etc.

Limited to 20 people.
*This course has four sessions. Priority will be given to those who can attend all sessions.
