2022 HICE Key Priorities

Activity ReportsMarch 28, 2022 (Mon)

This fiscal year marks the third year of HICE’s three priority projects!

The HICE Mid-Term Plan and the Hamamatsu City Vision for a Multicultural City will come to an end this year, so we will work on our various projects in this new stage of our projects.

❶Strengthening our Consultation Systems

Our consultation systems will be further strengthened to meet the increasing demand for Filipino and Vietnamese populations in particular. We will improve the skills of our consultants and respond to consultation needs in conjunction with seminars and other events directed mainly at the Filipino and Vietnamese communities in Hamamatsu.

❷Creating a System for Learning Japanese

Continue to work on the foundations built, and the systems made by the Hamamatsu ‘Regional Japanese Language Education Promotion Policy’. With the 3rd Hamamatsu City Vision for a Multicultural City (from 2023) in mind, we will conduct a full-scale survey of the Japanese language skills of foreign residents and make recommendations on the system we should aim for in the future.

❸Providing Helpful Information

We will prove useful and effective information to citizens with diverse multinational needs, mainly through the use of the newly opened Hamamatsu Multicultural and International Exchange Portal (HAMAPO). We will actively reach out to the younger generation while also utilising social networking tools such as videos on YouTube and Instagram.
